Gunite Shell: Building Your Pool's Foundation
The gunite phase creates the structural shell of your pool—a monolithic concrete structure reinforced with steel rebar, engineered to last 50+ years in Houston's soil conditions.
Timeline: 1–2 days for application, 7–14 days curing
Before gunite is applied, our steel team installs a carefully engineered rebar framework that reinforces the entire pool structure. Plumbing pipes and return fittings are positioned precisely. Then our certified gunite applicators use high-pressure pneumatic equipment to shoot concrete over the rebar cage, building up the shell to the engineered thickness. The finished shell is hand-troweled for smooth transitions and inspected before beginning the curing process.
